19 January 2022 - William Morris Quilt and Sophies Universe

Well, I have nearly finished the Quilt, the top is completed and I have the pieces cut ready to sew up for the back, a main centre piece of red with green border that will come over to the front of the quilt. Just need to find time to get on the machine & complete it.

My crocheted Sophies Universe blanket is now finished and blocked and resides on the spare bed. I really enjoyed working on it, so much so that I have embarked on another, this time in wool and in the colours of the spare room wallpaper. We will never be cold at night in this house!

Another patchwork quilt has been started, Attic Window pattern, but it has been put on pause as I am really busy with all the organising of Wonderwool at the moment. If you have not heard of Wonderwool, it is the largest wool and fibres festival in Wales, held at the Royal Welsh Showground, Builth Wells, every April. This year is our 16th show and will be on the 23rd & 24th April. In 2019/20 we were awarded Best Event in the Mid Wales Tourism Awards and have consistently been Highly Commended in the Let’s Knit British Knitting & Crochet Awards in the Best Event category, the Knitting and Stitching Shows in London taking first place and a Highly Commended with their Harrogate show.
